It is the very first time for the conference coming to China in 50 years
The 29th International Laser Radar Conference (or ILRC) kicked off on 24 June, 2019 in Hefei, Southeast China. This is the very time for the conference coming to China since its founding in 1968.
The conference, almost the grandest event in laser radar research community, draw more than 550 users from 35 countries all over the world gathering in Hefei to share and exchange views with their common academic interests.
During the coming five days, over 280 papers are going to be presented in 8 conference sessions focused on over ten topics in laser radar with wide range from lidar tehnology in atmosphere ocean study to weather forcasting and climate change.
ILRC dates back to 1968 for it was held for the first time in Boulder, CO, USA. During the following 50 years, it is conventionally held every two years under the oversight of the International Coordination-group for Laser Atmospheric Studies (or ICLAS), of the International Radiation Commission (or IRC). And the ILRC 2019 comes to China and is co-hosted by six institutes and universities around China. Hefei Institutes of Physical Science undertakes the conference local organizing work.
