AIOFM won the Third Prize of "China Standard Innovation Award" TEXT SIZE: A A A

The Optoelectronic Technology Laboratory of AIOFM won the third price of “China Standard Innovation Award” from China tobacco Corporation, because of the outstanding achievement in setting national standard GB/T 22838.17-2009 “Determination of physical properties of cigarette and filter rod section 17: Determination of loss of tobacco from the ends method by using a vibro-bench”.

This national standard was formally enacted and enforced in May, 2009, as one of the major research achievements of National Department Public Benefit Research Foundation "Research on Cigarettes-Determination of loss of tobacco from the ends" of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) in 2007. The determination of the loss of tobacco from the ends Method using a vibro-bench was proposed with significant innovations. This method can reflect changes in the technology of cigarette blend and the circulation effect on the amount of loss of tobacco from the ends. The method can be applied in the circulation of cigarette product quality supervision and guidance of the cigarette production process. It solved the practical problems of the tobacco industry in determining the loss of tobacco from the ends.

Based on the national standard, we proposed "ISO3550-3 Cigarettes-Determination of loss of tobacco from the ends-Method by using a vibro-bench" to the ISO conference and this standard was successful established.

Now AIOFM is undertaking the revising standard project of China Tobacco “ISO3550-3 Cigarettes-Determination of loss of tobacco from the ends-Method by using a vibro-bench” with 12 units such as tobacco standardization center, etc. Aiming to accomplish the formulation of the international standard ISO3550-3, the lab is continuing their related research.
