Japan Chiba University Professor Tamio Takamura Was Appointed as “CAS Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientist” in AIOFM TEXT SIZE: A A A
 

On October 18, the appointment ceremony for Professor Tamio Takamura of Chiba University, Japan was held at No. 219 academic report Hall, Building 1 of AIOFM.

The Ceremony was chaired by Wei Heli, Deputy Director of the Atmospheric Optics Research Center. First Prof. Wei introduced Tamio Takamura professor’s background and academic achievement, and congratulated him on becoming “CAS Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientist” and obtaining the certificate signed by Bai Chunli, the President of CAS after successfully passing the evaluation by experts Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Subsequently, Wang Yingjian, president of Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, CAS (CASHIPS) issued the appointment letter to Prof. Tamio Takamura. Prof. Tamio Takamura accepted the letter pleasedly, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the senior executives and partner of CASHIP, AIOFM and the Center. He promised to further aiming at the science frontier, strengthening international cooperation, to contribute his efforts to the development of the Center, AIOFM and CASHIP and the cultivation of young talents.

After the appointed ceremony, Prof. Tamio Takamura presented a report entitled "SKYNET in aerosol-cloud research". He reported the academic problems from basic to leading-edge of atmospheric aerosol-cloud sensing and model research combining his scientific achievements. The report lasted more than 2 hours.

According to the requirements under the Distinguished Research Fellow Program, Professor Tamio Takamura will conduct a series of academic exchange activities in Atmospheric Optics Research Center, AIOFM.
